How to turn on Geo-Data

To turn on Geo-Location data on an iPhone, go to the setting app on your home screen. Tap on “Privacy,” then “Location Services.” Make sure your location services are turned on and then find the Storyboard App in the list below and change to “While Using App.”

To turn on Geo-Location data on an Android, open the Camera app, and then swipe from left to right. Tap on the settings icon that will appear on the bottom left side of the screen. Tap on the “Save Location” button to turn on.

How can I share stories?

Select the story you wish to share then select the 3-dot icon located in the top left hand corner of the screen. To share this story, select “Share Story.”

Are you linked with any other services? (Facebook, Instagram etc)

You can link your Facebook and Twitter with Storyboard. Storyboard automatically picks up your Facebook and Twitter accounts from your phone and allows you to post to these platforms. Instagram you cannot access, as they do not allow this.

How can I report a story?

Select the story you wish to report then select the 3-dot icon located in the top left hand corner of the screen. To report this story, select “Report Story.”

I keep getting an error message and can't use Storyboard - what should I do?

This is usually due to a “timed out” issue. Select “MyProfile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Firstly close the app by either double tapping and swiping up on iPhone or by opening the list of applications you have open on your Android device and closing Storyboard. If this does not work please log out by selecting “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Select “Logout” and then “Logout” again. Now log in again.

Who can see my stories?

If your account is set to private only the people who follow you can see your stories however when your account is public, anyone can see your profile and stories.

Where can I learn about Storyboards privacy policy?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Scroll down and select “Privacy Policy.”

Where can I find more information on Stoaryboards terms and conditions?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Scroll down and select “Terms and Conditions.”

How can I report harassment?

We want to apologize for any issues you may have faced on Storyboard and promise to take action quickly. Report harassment by reporting the story. To do this go to the story and in the top right hand corner of the story are three dots. Tap on that and click “Report Story.”

How can I contact the Storyboard team with a compliment or complaint?

To contact the Storyboard team email support@storyboardsocial.com with your compliment or complaint. If you wish to report a story in the top right hand corner of the story are three dots. Tap on that and click Report Story.

What if I don't have internet and can't post?

You can always create Stories and leave them in the Draft Story section and post them when you have Internet.

When I am overseas I will not have internet.

First of all always leave your WIFI on for travel safety. This increases the chance of finding your phone if it gets lost or stolen. The WIFI will also be able to identify your location and ensure your photos will place themselves on the Storyboard map.

How can I search hashtags?

Select the magnifying glass icon at the top right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Type in the word you would like to search in the bar across the top of the screen. Results will appear below. To refine your search you can select the Topic, User or Location icons below the search bar.

How can i choose topics to follow?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Select “Edit Profile” then scroll down and select “Topics.” Use the search panel at the top of the screen to explore different topics then select the + icon on the right hand side of the topic that you like and when it changes to green you are following that topic.

Can I do a search to see if any of my friends are using Storyboard?

You can use the discovery button to search names and usernames to find friends. You can now also go to your “Profile,” “Settings” and find “Facebook friends.”

How can I follow people I like in my story feed?

Select the story of the person you wish to follow then select the 3-dot icon located in the top left hand corner of the screen. To follow the person select “Follow.”

How do I start following someone when they are my friend on Facebook?

On the Story feed page you will notice a search symbol in the top right hand corner. Tap it and start typing the name of the person you want to follow. Select them from the results and you will be taken to their profile page. Select follow.

How do I start following someone when i don't know his or her username?

How do I like someone's story or photo?

Select the story you wish to like or comment on. To like the story select the love heart located on the left hand side of the page at the bottom of the cover photo. To Comment on a story select “Comment on Story” at the bottom of the page. To like or comment on an individual photo select the love heart or speech bubble on the bottom right hand side on the photo.

Can i change the order of my stories?

The order in which stories appear in your Profile cannot be changed however new features are coming soon to group stories together!

Can i add a video to my story?

You can put as many videos in your story as you want however each individual video can be no longer than 30 seconds.

If I post a story from a long time ago, can I put a date to it?

The exact date of a story is not currently relevant only the time the photos were taken to ensure they are displayed in the order they were taken.

Can I post a story from a trip I took 2 years ago?

Of course! You can post a story from old photos or any image you have. Just make sure they are within 24 hours of each other.

How can I tag someone on my story?

To tag someone on a photo caption, blurb or comment make sure you are following them then place an @ and start typing their name. I.e. @Storyboard

How do you delete draft stories you no longer need?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select “Draft Stories” located beside “Published Stories” in the middle left of the page. Select “Edit Story” below the story you wish to delete, then select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. When the drop down menu appears select “Delete Story” and then “Delete.”

How can I change captions on my photos?

Go into the story and find the photo that has the caption you want to change. Tap the photo so it is full screen and then tap blue pen on the right hand side.

How can I change my Story Blurb?

To change your Story Blurb open the Story and in the top right hand corner you will see three dots. Tap on these dots and click “Edit Story.” Make the changes you want and click “Save.”

How do I go back to a story after it has been posted and edit the text or add a hashtag?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner and select the story you wish to edit. Tap on the photo that you want to edit and you will notice a little blue pen just below the photo on the right. Tap that and add or edit your caption and hash tags.

How do I post photos when I did not have location turned on for photos on my phone?

When your photos have no location data they will be placed at the bottom of the map. These photos need to be dragged and dropped to the location in which they were taken.

How do I post photos when they were taken on a camera not my phone or tablet?

Transfer your photos to your device in your usual way. When your photos have no location data they will be placed at the bottom of the map. These photos need to be dragged and dropped to the location in which they were taken.

My photos are greyed out! Why is this?

Storyboard allows you to create stories of events that happen in a 24-hour period and to make it easier to keep track of what you did in a 24-hour period, Storyboard greys out everything outside that window. If you would like to share stories from longer periods of time try Storyboard Premium.

How do I change my language setting?

If your language of choice is available on Storyboard then Storyboard will select the language to the same settings as your phone settings. For example if your phone is in Portuguese Storyboard will detect this and display the application in Portuguese.

How can i adjust my notification settings?

We suggest you leave your notification settings on so we can let you know what is happening in Storyboard. However if you really want them off select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Select “Notification Settings” then select the blue button of any settings you wish to change. When the switch is blue and to the right, the setting is turned on and when it is white and to the left it is switched off.

How can I deactivate or delete my account?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Scroll down and select “Account Settings,” either “Deactivate Account” or “Delete Account,” and tell us why you’re leaving Storyboard. Enter your password in the section just above the bottom of the screen then select “Deactivate” or “Delete Account” and “Deactivate” or “Delete” again.

How can I make my account private/public?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. To make your account “Private” select the “Private Account” button. When it switches to the right and becomes blue, your account is private and only the people who are following you can see your stories. When it is switched to the left and is white, your account is private and can be viewed by anyone.

How do I change my cover photo?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Select “Edit Profile” then select the icon of a “Camera” located at the left hand side on the page on the bottom left corner of your current background photo. Choose to “Take Photo” or “Choose from Camera Roll.” Once you have set your new picture select “Save” in the top right hand corner of the page to save changes.

How do I change my password?

Select My Profile on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard.  Select the settings cog at the top right hand corner. To change your password select Change Password then enter your current password in Current Password. Then enter the password you would like to make your new password in New Password and again in Verify New Password and select Save at the top right hand corner of the page to Save the new password.

How can I edit my profile photo?

Select “My Profile” on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard. Select the “Settings” cog at the top right hand corner. Select “Edit Profile,” then select your current profile picture located at the top-centre of the page. Choose to “Take Photo” or “Choose from Camera Roll.” Once you have set your new picture select “Save” in the top right hand corner of the page to save changes.

Where are my account settings?

Select My Profile on the bottom right hand corner of the front page of Storyboard.  Select the settings cog at the top right hand corner.

I can't access my account, what should i do?

If your password has been stolen or you have forgotten it, you are able to request a password reset on the login page. If you are getting other errors try logging out.  If problems persist email support@storyboardsocial.comand we will get back to you as fast as we can.
